Chiropractic Treatment for Neck Pain in Flower Mound, TX
If you’re like most Americans, you probably spend a great deal of time on computers, tablets, and smartphones—and you probably also suffer from neck pain as a result. Neck pain is common, but it should never be thought of as normal. Patients with neck pain may experience:
- Muscle tightness and spasms
- Migraines and headaches
- Limited range of motion
- Pain that is aggravated by holding the head in the same position for extended periods of time (as with sitting at a desk using a computer)
Treatment begins by attempting to determine the underlying cause of your neck pain. These may include:
- Car accidents
- Strains and sprains
- Too much screen time
- Improper sleep position
- Bone misalignments
- Fixations
- Cervical disc problems
When you come to Palmercare Chiropractic for a neck pain evaluation, we’ll assess the overall condition of your neck, looking for signs of disc generation and evaluating whether it has lost part of its curve.
In a healthy body, there is a slight curve in the neck that positions your head centered above the shoulders. The result is that the weight of your head is distributed evenly and equal amounts of pressure are on each of the discs in the spine.
Patients who spend a lot of time on devices or have other structural issues in the upper spine will often have a head that is moved slightly forward from this ideal position. As a consequence, there is more pressure placed on the discs. These patients experience chronic neck pain, back pain, and headaches.
Spinal manipulations relieve neck pain and its associated symptoms. At-home stretches and exercises can also help strengthen the upper spine and improve your posture for long-term pain relief.
